"The Insight Endometriosis Coffee Group is always a nice way to spend a couple of hours on a Wednesday morning. Friendly faces, good coffee (Deborah always picks great places to go) and the chance to talk about your endometriosis experiences if you want to, or not, as we often just have a good old gossip with friends old and new. Wish I could make it every month, but at least when I do, I know it will always be very enjoyable". - Hayley Y, Aug 2014
"I had been going to the ‘coffee groups’ run by Insight Endometriosis starting a couple of years ago in a support role for my daughter who was in the process of diagnosis and waiting for diagnostic surgery. Sometimes we went to the Saturday Morning groups and other times it was the Wednesday morning group and occasionally we got to both.
Fortunately we had met Annette prior to attending our first coffee group so that made it easier to attend and meet others but we need not have worried as everyone was so welcoming and friendly and happy to share their stories.
It was definitely great to have a support network through these ‘coffee groups’ and some great friendships made. Of course we have all had a few laughs along the way and have a good excuse to try out a new café or return to a regular place. We looked forward to attending, to catch up and to meet others with similar circumstances but now with changes and work commitments we haven’t been able to attend recently.
Groups are always welcoming and enjoyable. For someone thinking of attending their first coffee group my advice would be, not to worry if you don’t know anyone – just look out for the purple Insight Endometriosis logo and you will have an enjoyable experience. We were all ‘Newbies’ to start with - nothing ventured, nothing gained". – Joy T, Sept 2014
"I've been to a few monthly information evenings over the last couple of years and they are a great way of meeting women who have suffered through the same or similar endometriosis experiences. Just as importantly though the topics covered are varied, interesting and informative. Anything from nutrition to treatment options to just coping with endometriosis. Annette is a wealth of information and has a great network of people and extensive resources. I know I can make a more informed decision about my condition having been along to these evenings and with friendly faces like Volunteer Co-ordinator Deborah you always feel welcome". - Jo G, Oct 2014
