Recognition of endometriosis and diagnostic delays

Insight Endometriosis welcomes the recognition of endometriosis and diagnostic delays by the Prime Minister. It is common for women to put up with pain for many years until it becomes overwhelming. Recognition of symptoms such as pelvic and other pain at the time of period is crucial as outcomes can be much improved with early diagnosis and appropriate treatment. “it’s time for women to not simply put up with pain which compromises daily life", says Insight Endometriosis Manager and Education, Annette Evan, "Endometriosis is a significant condition with wide impacts which deserves prioritising by women, health professionals, and wider society.”
