GP PERSPECTIVES OF ENDOMETRIOSIS REPORT

Insight Endometriosis commissioned research to better understand general practitioners’ (GPs’) perspectives on the timely diagnosis and management of endometriosis in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Despite the significant impact of endometriosis, many people continue to face lengthy delays in diagnosis. This research explores GPs’ knowledge, experiences and approaches to recognising and managing the condition, identifying opportunities to improve awareness, education and pathways to diagnosis.

Drawing on an online survey of 63 GPs across New Zealand, the report highlights important findings and supports the need for improvements in primary care, particularly for younger women and Māori, who experience inequities in diagnosis and care.
