Team Entries

Walking as a team (minimum 4 people) is a great way to get friends, whānau, colleagues, or community groups involved in the Purple Walk.

There are four ways to enter as a team:

Register your team on the day

Teams can register at the event from 4.30pm.
Please note: on-the-day team registrations are cash only.

One person registers the team online
One team organiser can collect names and payments from all team members and register everyone together via our website.

Individual registrations using a team name
Agree on a team name and let everyone know. Each team member registers individually on our website and enters the same team name during registration so we can group you together.

Christina's Uterus Homage

Christina Vandy is the talented photographer that will be capturing the moments at the 2026 Purple Walk for Endometriosis. Beyond her work behind the camera, Christina is also an award-winning artist whose photography reflects her own lived experience with endometriosis.

ChristinaVandy_vagfinal_SilverDis.jpg

This is an image that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. Christina has crafted a powerful homage to her journey with endometriosis and a recent hysterectomy. This piece, which earned a Silver with Distinction in the 2025 Iris Awards Creative Image category, began as a simple photograph and evolved into a poignant work of mixed media art.

The creative process started with an unexpected discovery. A photograph, when flipped, revealed the exact likeness of a uterus. This serendipitous moment sparked Christina's vision to transform the image into a tribute to her own body and the struggles she's endured. The addition of yellow stitching is a key element of the work, symbolically representing the endometriosis lesions that were once a source of pain and hardship.

The creative category's allowance for mixed media was essential to the piece's completion. Christina meticulously built up four layers of artist wax, giving the work a rich, textured depth. The final layer of gloss varnish not only protects the piece but also adds a luminous finish, drawing the viewer in to appreciate the intricate details.

This image is more than just a depiction of a medical condition; It's a testament to resilience, healing, and the transformative power of art. It invites viewers to contemplate themes of pain, courage, and the often-unseen battles that many face.
